Sister & Brother Photoshoot

What can I say about this sister and brother duo?  Just that Karlie & Ruben are two of the finest young people with the biggest hearts that love their mom!  With a double reciprocity of love from mom to these two cherished siblings.

I had the pleasure and honor of creating a fabulous senior photoshoot for Karlie and Ruben at the Inn at the Delta a few weeks back.  It was a place full of textures and colors that made me feel like I was shooting in a land made perfect for this photoshoot.

Karlie and Ruben are two young people that truley care about the people in their lives.  I'm constantly amazed at the love and generosity these two outpour in their facebook posts and in person.  Ruben is a true fountain of positive energy when you meet him...no fake, no ego...just down to earth good humor and and outgoing personality that makes you feel like a million dollars after your encounter with him.

Karlie is a shining star in her beauty and soul.  When you meet her for the first time you feel like an angel from heaven is talking with you...she is sweet and endearing.

And oh my goodness...when you meet their mom, Lydia, you'll see a mom who has nothing but the utmost love and respect for her hijita and hijito...  She is a loving example of parenthood done right!

Larisa + Sean: Personal & Fabulous Wedding

Diane and I met Larisa years ago when our two boys were playing baseball together in middle school.  And through the years we realized we had mucho simpatico in the loves and trials of raising kids and we just ADORE Larisa.

So we were greatly honored when she asked if we could shoot her wedding.  It was such a treasure to us to see her so happy and treated so well by her future husband.  And I have to say that this wedding was FABULOUS and emotional.
So often I saw love, caring, and genuine happiness going out to Larisa and her groom from the family and friends that gathered to witness her special day.  Congratulations, again, Larisa and Sean!

Vineyard Photo Shoot

I just love what I do!  And I'm even more in love with my job when  a client hires me for my style and they WANT that style.  Last weekend we finished a photo shoot of the lovely Monica...she had seen my work on Facebook  by way of friends of hers we had shot previously and she told me that she knew then that she wanted me for her photoshoot.  What an honor!  It all goes back to my philosophy of offering our clients a unique and fabulous photoshoot experience that is customized to the client's personality and style.  THAT is what it's all about for me.

And like I have said before, I LOVE it when a client comes to the Meet and Greet Creative Planning session with specific ideas on what they want...I don't believe in static posing and traditional portraiture...I love clients that sync to my style of fun, personality driven, fashion, and texture driven images...and Monica had just the place she wanted to shoot at to incorporate some GORGEOUS scenery that offered me a treasure trove of texture, light, and environmental elements that would be sure to ROCK this photoshoot...The Estrella Del Norte Vineyard and Tasting Room.  The day was perfect sunshine with fall colors and a wicked barrel room with a vintage motorcycle!

THE FOG and Client Collaboration

If I haven't said it enough before, I LOVE it when clients come to the creative planning session with ideas!  Especially during the High School Senior Pictures season.  You see, when a high school senior comes to the planning session with ideas they know are going to be eagerly received, they are already excited about the photo shoot long before it starts....and to be quite honest, I'm honored that I can have young ladies and men sit before me and Diane,  comfortable and eager to work together in creating the most unique and intriguing images possible to fit their personality.  It's what we do and it's what I love about my job...and trust me, next to girls dreaming about their dream wedding, they are definitely thinking about their high school senior pictures and have all sorts of ideas and inspiration!

So, when we sat down with Carli and her mom and began to discuss ideas, we started talking about creating some moody and dramatic images....I was honestly talking about lighting and using a black background....Carli then injected a "oh...I thought you meant like with fog and stuff...".  I told her that I wasn't thinking about that, but that maybe we SHOULD!  What a great vision!  The rest was up to me to execute a cool and intriguing set of images...I love my clients!
