I Live! and the Snapshot

I was recently reading up on one of Chase Jarvis' new projects: Dasein - An Invitation to Hang. I'll let you hit the links to get the full story on his project, but in a nutshell, at least the way I took it, was about the capturing the raw human existence through the snapshot.

I immediately thought of this picture I took of my daughter a few months back.  We were out playing basketball in the cul-de-sac on a slightly cold and overcast winter day.  And of course I had my camera sitting around...(gosh do you really think I go places without it much!).
So there came a time during our playtime that I ran out of steam and sat down for a little bit while she continued to play around shooting.  So, needless to say I was just snapping away, playing around with the camera....and to me this "snapshot" is one of the most powerful snapshots I've captured in a long time.

Some of you know the story with my daughter's recent medical situation and when I look at this picture, I weep for joy because it truly captures the essence of this daddy's little girl and her love for life and the power and strength she showed this family when she powered through her recent experience.  Nuff' said.
